Itinerary
WELCOME TO CUSCO!
Once the capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco is now a vibrant cosmopolitan city set high in the Andes.
Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel, where you can rest and begin acclimating to Cusco’s elevation of approximately 11,150 ft (3,400 m).
The rest of the day is at leisure to acclimate to the altitude.

This morning, begin discovering Cusco with a visit to the impressive Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun. Continue to San Pedro Market, a colorful mix of aromas, flavors, and local products – including traditional chuta bread, which can be as large as a family-size pizza!
Finish the morning at a llama farm, where you can learn more about South American camelids and even feed these gentle Andean animals.
Return to Cusco. The afternoon is at leisure.

This morning, travel toward the South Valley for a fun, family-friendly adventure. Take in beautiful scenery as you raft the waters of the Urubamba River. After the experience, return to Cusco for a distinctive lunch at a local restaurant.
The afternoon is at leisure.
A free day to enjoy the historic capital of the Incas at your own pace.
Travel by road, train, and bus to Machu Picchu and discover the history of one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Depart early for Ollantaytambo train station, then continue by train and bus to the magnificent Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Explore its ancient pathways with your guide and learn about its history and the story of Hiram Bingham in 1911. Depending on the ticket and circuit included, your visit may feature the Temple of the Sun, the Pachamama Sanctuary, the quarries, Intihuatana, and other iconic areas.
In the evening, board the train back to Ollantaytambo and continue by private transportation to Cusco.
Overnight at your selected hotel in Cusco.

A day of spectacular landscapes, local flavors, and centuries of Inca and colonial history.
Continue to the Maras Salt Mines, an extraordinary open-air complex where salt is harvested from more than 4,000 small terraced pools using techniques passed down through generations.
Travel along the Vilcanota mountain range, with snowcapped peaks in the distance, and pass through the town of Maras, known for its colonial streets and carved doorways. Continue to a local Andean community for a closer look at village life.
Return to Cusco to rest and prepare for the next adventure.

At the trailhead, begin a gentle hike through this remote section of the range, where three colorful mountains can be seen from the highest viewpoint. Your guide will share insights into the landscape while you enjoy time for unforgettable photographs and the scenery of Palcoyo.
After visiting Palcoyo, return to your vehicle and continue for approximately one hour you may visit to the historic Checacupe bridge, a suspension bridge associated with the ancient Inca road network. Enjoy lunch and some time to rest before returning to Cusco.
