Itinerary

Welcome to Cusco!

Once the capital of the great Inca Empire, Cusco is now a vibrant city in the Peruvian Andes.

Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy a cup of coca tea, a traditional Andean infusion. The rest of the day is yours to relax and acclimate to Cusco’s elevation of approximately 11,000 ft (3,350 m).

La Catedral del Cusco se ve en el centro de la Plaza de Armas, rodeada de techos de teja. La ciudad sube por los cerros y la plaza está llena de gente.

A day where breathtaking scenery, local flavors, and centuries of Inca and colonial history comes together.

Today, explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, framed by dramatic snowcapped peaks and fertile fields of corn, the valley’s signature crop. Imagine kernels nearly the size of your thumb! Visit the traditional Pisac Market, where you can also discover a colonial-style oven still used to bake local empanadas. Enjoy time to stroll the market before continuing to a historic local hacienda for a memorable lunch that feels like a journey back in time.

After lunch, continue to the impressive Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, a remarkable showcase of Inca architecture and engineering. This is also where forces led by Manco Inca defeated the Spanish for the first time. At the end of the visit, transfer to Ollantaytambo train station and board the train to Aguas Calientes.

Overnight in Machu Picchu.

Desde un camino de piedra se ve el Valle Sagrado: un pueblo de tejas, chacras de un verde intenso y la cordillera cerrando el valle.

Today, discover one of the finest expressions of Inca architecture, engineering, and water management.

A fter a scenic 25-minute bus ride, enjoy the magnificent Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Explore its ancient pathways with your guide and discover sites such as the Temple of the Sun, the Pachamama Sanctuary, the quarries, and the Intihuatana, among others, depending on the circuit included with your ticket.

The afternoon is at leisure to relax, visit the hot springs, or enjoy a soothing massage.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

En el corazón de Machu Picchu, un árbol solitario crece entre los recintos de piedra. A un lado se levanta el Huayna Picchu; al otro, la montaña cae hacia la selva.

Travel by train through the spectacular Vilcanota Canyon and continue into the Sacred Valley, where ancestral traditions are still part of everyday life.

In the morning, board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, meet your private transfer and continue to the Maras Salt Mines. Discover this extraordinary open-air salt complex, where salt is still harvested from more than 4,000 small terraced pools using techniques passed down through generations.

Continue along the Vilcanota mountain range, with snowcapped peaks in the distance, and pass through the town of Maras, known for its colonial streets and carved doorways bearing the coats of arms of noble families and local leaders from the 17th and 18th centuries. From here, continue to a local Andean community for a closer look at village life.

Enjoy an authentic Andean lunch in the home of a local resident.

Return to Cusco.

Overnight at your selected hotel in Cusco.

Un salinero con chullo camina por el borde de las pozas de Maras, con la herramienta al hombro. La sal blanca dibuja escalones por toda la ladera.
