Itinerario

WELCOME TO PERU! Once the capital of the Spanish Viceroyalty, Lima is now a vibrant metropolis and one of Peru’s great culinary destinations.

Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Lima.

A delicious introduction to Peru’s celebrated culinary traditions.

Join a relaxed cooking class in Lima’s modern Miraflores district and learn to prepare two Peruvian favorites: causa de pollo and ceviche, Peru’s iconic national dish. You will also mix your own classic pisco sour while learning about the history, ingredients, and cultural influences that have shaped Peruvian cuisine.

The afternoon is at leisure.

Overnight in Lima.

DISCOVER THE CITY OF KINGS

Explore more than 2,000 years of history and the distinctive cityscapes that make Lima so captivating, then fly to Cusco in the afternoon.

Begin with a visit to Lima’s Historic Center, where architecture from the 16th century to the present day tells the story of the city. Stroll through the Plaza de Armas and admire landmarks such as the Archbishop’s Palace, Lima City Hall, and the Government Palace. Continue to the San Francisco Convent, whose origins date back to the 16th century.

Visit historic Casa Aliaga, continuously inhabited by the same family for more than 17 generations, dating back to the arrival of conquistador Jeronimo de Aliaga, a companion of Francisco Pizarro.

Continue through some of Lima’s most traditional residential districts, including San Isidro, El Olivar, and Larcomar. Stop at the famous Park of Love for spectacular views over the Pacific Ocean.

In the afternoon, transfer to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco. Flight not included.

Upon arrival in Cusco, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel, where you can relax and begin acclimating to the altitude.

Overnight in Cusco.

A day where breathtaking scenery, local flavors, and centuries of Inca and colonial history come together.

Set out for your exploration of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Travel into the Sacred Valley, framed by dramatic snowcapped peaks and fertile cornfields. Corn is one of the valley’s most important crops – imagine kernels nearly the size of your thumb!

Visit the traditional Pisac Market and enjoy an authentic local treat: freshly baked empanadas from a colonial-style oven whose tradition has been kept alive for generations.

Enjoy a traditional lunch at the historic Huayoccari Hacienda, a gracious estate that feels suspended in time.

After lunch, continue to your hotel in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

A wonderful day to discover Ollantaytambo and enjoy a scenic train journey through the Andes.

By mid-morning, travel to Ollantaytambo, often described as the last Inca living town. This historic site is also where forces led by Manco Inca achieved their first victory over the Spanish.

Enjoy lunch in Ollantaytambo while taking in views of the town’s charming main square.

Continue to the train station and board your journey to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

In the morning, take a scenic 25-minute bus ride to the magnificent Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Explore its ancient pathways and discover sites such as the Temple of the Sun, the Pachamama Sanctuary, the quarries, and the Intihuatana, among others, as you experience a magical sunset at Machu Picchu.

Take in the extraordinary landscapes of Maras, where salt is still harvested using ancestral traditions.

Depart your hotel and continue to the Maras Salt Mines, an extraordinary open-air complex formed by more than 4,000 small salt pools, where local families continue to harvest salt using techniques passed down through generations.

Continue along the Vilcanota mountain range with snowcapped peaks in the distance, passing through the town of Maras, known for its colonial streets and carved doorways bearing the coats of arms of noble families and local leaders from the 17th and 18th centuries. Then continue to a local Andean community for a closer look at village life.

Enjoy an authentic Andean lunch in a local family’s home.

Return to Cusco.

Overnight at your selected hotel in Cusco.

A fascinating morning devoted to Cusco’s history, art, and culture, followed by a free afternoon.

After a relaxed breakfast, set out on a guided exploration of Cusco. Visit the Plaza de Armas and Cusco Cathedral, whose remarkable art and architecture rival some of Europe’s great cathedrals.

Continue to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically positioned on a hill overlooking Cusco and famous for its enormous precisely fitted stones, some more than 30 ft (9 m) high and weighing over 150 tons.

The afternoon is at leisure.

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for your departure flight from Cusco.
